CHICAGO — A woman shot and killed a man after he beat her in Clearing early Sunday, police said.
At 5:18 a.m., the two were in the 6900 block of West 65th Street when the man, 33, hit the woman, 30, police said. The woman took out out a gun and shot the man, hitting him three times.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was identified as Damien Hernandez, of the 5900 block of West 65th Street, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at 5:41 a.m. and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
The woman was taken into custody after the shooting, police said, but she was released without being charged.
