CHICAGO — The Six Corners Association brings the next installment of its Social After Six series to Thunderbolt, 4842 W. Irving Park Road, on Tuesday for a nontraditional happy hour combination of board games and ax-throwing.

For a $10 entry fee, visitors can head into the newly-opened ax range starting at 6 p.m., when board games will be available for free use. All proceeds benefit the association.

Blues guitarist Erik Lauren will perform live starting at 7 p.m., and Thunderbolt staff will lead an "ax-throwing workshop" at 8 p.m. From 8:30-10 p.m., it will be open season on the range's 10 wooden bullseye targets.

The event is being organized to "connect the community with Thunderbolt Chicago, as well as bring exposure to entertainment opportunities in the shopping district," according to Six Corners Association program manager Jessica Vazquez.

Ax-chuckers must be 18 to participate, organizers said.

Tickets are sold online.
