LINCOLN PARK — Saturday is National Oyster Day, but this year Oyster Bah doesn't have the field to itself.

The Kennison, its new raw bar and its "raw-tender" are offering specials as well Saturday.

The Kennison, 1800 N. Lincoln Ave., which opened a month ago, has been touting its new raw bar since the restaurant was redesigned from the former Perennial Virant. It's in the far corner of the main bar, manned by a "raw-tender."

It celebrates Saturday with $3 oysters served with frozen champagne mignonette and hot sauce.

Oyster Bah, however, isn't exactly throwing up its hands and saying, "Aw, shucks."

It's a national holiday for the Lettuce Entertain You outlet at 1962 N. Halsted St., and it has a series of specials.

It's planning an oyster happy hour from 3-6 p.m. both Friday and Saturday, with oysters half-priced at $1.50 each. Oyster happy hour will be extended both nights from 9-11, too. During this weekend's happy hours, anything on the menu with an anchor next to it will also be half-priced.

In addition, an order of four grilled oysters goes for $14.95, four fried oysters are priced the same, and a fried-oyster po' boy is $18.95.

For those willing to stray beyond the boundaries of Lincoln Park and Old Town on Saturday, Lettuce Entertain You's seafood flagship, Shaw's Crab House, 21 E. Hubbard St., will also have half-priced oysters from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. to celebrate National Oyster Day.
