CHICAGO — Police are warning residents of Garfield Ridge to beware after several recent burglaries.

In the incidents, the burglars broke into the garage through the side door and stole items.

The incidents occurred:

• 8 p.m. July 12 in the 5200 Block of South Menard Avenue

• 12:30 a.m. July 14 in the 5100 Block of South Austin Avenue

• 8 a.m. July 18 in the 5200 Block of South Austin Avenue

• Noon July 19 in the 5400 Block of South Mulligan Avenue

• 6:45 a.m. July 26 in the 5200 Block of South Natchez Avenue

• 6 p.m. July 27 in the 5100 Block of South Austin Avenue

• 3:45 a.m. July 28 in the 5200 Block of South Rutherford Avenue

Police ask residents to keep doors and window secured, repair any broken windows, doors or locks and to keep the perimeter of their property well lit.
