LAKEVIEW — Police are searching for a man accused of beating a victim and pushing him down the stairs of the Sheridan "L" station last month.

The 49-year-old victim was knocked down the stairs that lead to the "L" platform around 5 a.m. July 8, police said. The attacker then followed the victim and repeatedly kicked him in the head.

The victim suffered a broken eye socket and pelvis, police said.

The attacker is described as a 25- to 35-year-old Asian man, possibly Filipino, who is between 5 feet 3 inches tall and 5-foot-7. He weighs 130 to 160 pounds and has short brown, parted hair.

At the time of the attack, the suspected attacker was wearing a white polo shirt with a dark stripe on the collar, dark pants and gray shoes.

Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 312-744-8261 and use the reference number JA-339275.
