STREETERVILLE — If you were excited about a boozy Taco Bell opening Downtown, now there will be two.

A new Taco Bell Cantina is expected to open by late August or early September at 205 E. Ohio St., a block from the Mag Mile, said Laura Nedbal, a Taco Bell spokeswoman.

Streeterville's new boozy Taco Bell is set to open at about the same time as another coming to 407 S. Dearborn St. in the Loop, Nedbal said.

The Taco Bell Cantina opening in Streeterville will replace a closed Pockets restaurant.

Taco Bell debuted Taco Bell Cantina in 2015 in Wicker Park as it sought to attract more young people in big cities. The cantina has big-screen TVs and serves slushies mixed with rum, tequila and vodka.  It also sells beer, wine and sangria.

The chain has since opened new cantinas in San Francisco and Las Vegas, and plans other boozy restaurants here, including the two new ones coming Downtown.

Nedbal said hours for the two new cantinas have yet to be determined, but the restaurants will generally follow the template of Wicker Park's boozy Taco Bell.

Records show a venture led by Naperville restaurant franchisee Sanjeev Khatau, who opened a Taco Bell in Rogers Park last year, is behind Streeterville's new Taco Bell. Khatau did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

There are currently only six Taco Bells in Chicago, including one in the atrium at the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph St.
