2 Cab Drivers Robbed In West Garfield Park

CHICAGO — Police are warning taxi cab drivers to watch out after two robberies in West Garfield Park.

In the incidents, a man took a cab and when the cab reached the destination, he implied he had a weapon and demanded the cab driver's personal belongings before running off.

The incidents occurred:

• At 5:19 a.m. July 16 in the 4000 Block of West Congress

• At 10:20 p.m. July 16 in the 3800 Block of West Congress

The offender is described as a black man, 40 to 45-years-old, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet tall, 180 to 200 pounds, bald, and with horn-rim glasses, a t-shirt with an image of a skull in the front and a tattoo of writing on his right forearm.

Police are asking people to report any suspicious people or activity immediately and to make sure that all cameras and surveillance equipment is in good and working conditions.
