Michael Pierre Carter, 35, Fatally Shot In Humboldt Park

CHICAGO — A 35-year-old man was fatally shot in Humboldt Park early Sunday, officials said. 

At 2:06 a.m., the man was sitting in a parked car in the 3600 block of West Chicago Avenue when someone walked up and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit multiple times in his head and body and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man was identified as Michael Pierre Carter, of the 800 block of North Central Park Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Carter was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m. and an autopsy showed he died of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
