WRIGLEYVILLE — Suffering from unbearable excitement over upcoming Chicago Cubs games against rivals like the St. Louis Cardinals and the White Sox? Take a break with some free snacks Saturday.
Haribo Gummi Bears is handing out 20,000 free samples in Wrigleyville as the Cubs face the Cardinals at 3:05 p.m. Saturday. The candy company's six-foot Gold Bear mascot will be doling out hugs and free samples of Haribo Gold Bears from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Gold Bear has been on quite the journey in recent months, traveling to New York City, Harvard University and other cities.
Saturday will be a good day for freebies, as the Cubs will give away children's T-shirts and sunscreen samples.
