Taste of River North To Bring Cover Bands, Bites To Downtown Park

RIVER NORTH — The Taste of River North is returning to Ward Park this weekend, complete with cover bands, free morning workouts and samples from some of the neighborhood's best-known restaurants.

This year's festival will start at 5 p.m. Friday at the park, 630 N. Kingsbury St., and last through the weekend. 

River North's Taste will feature drafts from Goose Island and Stella Artois as well as bites from 12 neighborhood restaurants including Big & Little's, Da Lobsta and Pranzi. 

Cover bands including Sixteen Candles, Boy Band Review and Don't Speak are among the acts that will play the festival. 

The East Bank Club, which is a sponsor of the festival, will also lead free workouts beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the gym, 500 N. Kingsbury.

The festival will last from 5-10 p.m. Friday, noon-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. A $5 donation to the River North Residents Association is suggested for admission. Dogs are not allowed in the south end of the park but are allowed in other areas including a nearby dog park off Larrabee Street.
