BEVERLY — Beverly's Ridge Park will host a farm-to-table dinner from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Sunday courtesy of Green City Market and the Chicago Park District.

A few tickets are still available for the free "Big Table Dinner" at 9625 S. Longwood Drive. Seating is limited for the outdoor event.

The meal aims to showcase urban agriculture, as all of the food will come from within a 250-mile radius of Chicago, said Taylor Choy, communications coordinator for the Lincoln Square-based Green City.

Green City's junior board and the park district's Night Out in the Parks worked to coordinate the meal to spur conversation between community leaders, business owners, food lovers, neighbors and others living near the park.

Chef Cathy Stacey of Ellie's Cafe in Morgan Park and chef Sandra Holl of Floriole Cafe and Bakery in Lincoln Park will make the meal along with chefs from A10 in Hyde Park and Bang Bang Pie and Biscuits in Logan Square.

Green City Market is a non-profit organization that works to create a sustainable food systems in Chicago through farmers markets, outreach, access and educational programming.

The group has been hosting Big Table Dinners for the last four years. This is the first time such a meal meant to showcase fresh, seasonal produce has come to Ridge Park, Choy said.

To reserve a place at the table, email juniorboard@greencitymarket.org with your name and the number of desired tickets.
