Suburban Man Snatched Fancy Bikes From South Loop Buildings, Police Say

By  David Matthews and Erica Demarest | July 18, 2017 3:55pm

SOUTH LOOP — A northwest suburban man has been charged with a string of bicycle thefts in the South Loop.

Justin Milos, 30, of Mount Prospect, faces three felony counts of burglary after getting arrested Monday in connection with the spree.

Police last week shared surveillance images of a man who looks like Milos walking around the neighborhood with stolen high-end bicycles.

Prosecutors allege Milos — who is listed in court documents as a personal trainer — broke into "various bike rooms" in three buildings.

Milos is accused of stealing a black Sirrus hybrid bicycle valued at $500, as well as a Specialized Allez bicycle and a Crosstrail Disk Pro bike, both of which are listed online for as much as $2,000.

Cook County Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil on Tuesday said Milos could be released on his own recognizance if he qualifies for electronic monitoring. If not, bail will be set at $40,000.
