'Moana' Showing Outdoors For Free In Chopin Park Saturday

CHICAGO — The Chicago Park District's Movies in the Parks series comes to the Portage Park neighborhood Thursday with a free screening of the 2016 animated hit "Moana" in Chopin Park, 3420 N. Long Ave.

Set in ancient Polynesia, the film revolves around the daughter of a chieftain who sets out to lift a curse that was cast on her island by a powerful demigod voiced by Dwayne Johnson.

Underwritten by Ald. Ariel Reboyras (30th), the screening is set to begin at dusk. Sundown will occur at 8:25 p.m. Saturday.

Movies in the Park will return to the neighborhood Thursday with a screening of "Finding Dory" in Portage Park, 4100 N. Long Ave.
