CHICAGO — A 30-year-old man was shot and killed in Auburn Gresham on Thursday, police said.
At 6:10 p.m., the man was walking in the 8200 block of South Carpenter Street when two people coming from an alley walked up to him, took out a gun and fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his his legs and his shoulders and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said. He was later pronounced dead.
The man was identified as Jonathan Halbert, of the same block where he was shot, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Halbert was pronounced dead at 6:59 p.m.
No one was in custody.
