CHICAGO — A 62-year-old cab driver was shot by his passengers in Burnside on Friday night, police said.
At 9:53 p.m., the man driving an unlicensed cab when he picked up a man and woman near 85th and Carpenter streets, police said.
The man stopped his cab in the 9100 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue to let out the man and woman, and the man took out a gun and both passengers said they were robbing the driver, police said.
The driver struggled with the two and the man hit the driver in his head with the gun and shot the driver in his foot, police said.
The driver took himself to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was in good condition, police said.
No one was in custody.
