Robbers Hit Businesses in Montclare, Police Warn

MONTCLARE —Businesses have been robbed twice in the past week in Montclare and once in Avondale, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police issued an alert Thursday after a string of robberies where someone with a gun walked into a business and demanded employees empty the cash register.

The incidents occurred at:

• 4:40 a.m.  June 24 in the 6400 block of West Diversey Street

• 4:10 p.m. June 26 in the 6400 block of West Diversey Street

• 3:30 a.m. June 29 in the 3100 block of North Milwaukee Avenue

One of the men was described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 6-feet tall, weighing 190 to 200 pounds.

In two robberies the man wore a red and black Chicago Blackhawks winter hat.
