CHICAGO — "Sense8," the Netflix series filmed in Chicago, will return for a finale.
Lana Wachowski, half of the Wachowski sisters duo that led "Sense8," wrote on Twitter Wednesday that the sci-fi show will return to Netflix for a two-hour finale. The series was canceled in early June after its second season, leaving Wachowski "hollowed ... out" and in a depression, she wrote.
In response to the cancelation, fans created a Change.org petition that garnered more than 522,000 signatures in less than a month.
"Improbably, unforeseeably, your love has brought 'Sense8' back to life," wrote Wachowski, who, with her sister, is a Chicago native.
The two-hour special was described as a finale on Twitter, but Wachowski wrote that "you NEVER know" what could happen after that.
Death doesn't let you say goodbye. 2 hour finale episode in the works. Tell your cluster. pic.twitter.com/GHZgGuHwS0
