CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot and killed in South Chicago on Monday night, police said.
At 6:30 p.m., the man was on the sidewalk in the 7900 block of South Ridgeland Avenue when he got into an argument with someone and the person took out a gun and fired shots, police said.
The man was hit and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.
Antone Jackson, of the same block where he was shot, was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
The attacker got into a light-colored car and drove away, police said. Officers were speaking with a person of interest.
