CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man was shot during a robbery in Avalon Park on Monday, police said.
At 1:20 p.m., the man was in the 7900 block of South Kenwood Avenue when someone shot him in his upper left leg during a robbery, police said.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was in serious condition, police said.
The man was a documented gang member, a police source said.
Police originally said the man had been hit in his left upper chest and killed in the shooting.
No one was in custody.
