CHICAGO — A driver ran down a man with his car, killing the man, in Austin on Monday night, police said.
At 7:52 p.m., the victim, a 54-year-old man, was in the 5200 block of West Division Street when he got into an argument with another person, police said. The person then intentionally ran over the man with a car, police said.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Benjamin Herron, of the 100 block of North Menard Avenue, was pronounced dead at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
A person was in custody in the incident and charges were pending.
