CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man died two days after a shooting in Austin, officials said.
At 11:55 p.m. Friday, the man was found lying on the sidewalk in the 5800 block of West Ohio Street, police said. The man had been shot in his head and he was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
Ira Johnson, of the 1500 block of North Waller, was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
