Romeo Edwards, 23, Killed In Austin Shooting While Sitting In Parked Car

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was shot dead in Austin on Monday night, police said.

At 7:55 p.m., the man was in a parked car in the 4800 block of West Gladys Avenue when someone in a car drove by and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his chest and right thigh and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man was identified as Romeo Edwards, of suburban Maywood, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Edwards was pronounced dead at 8:23 p.m. and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

No one was in custody.
