CHICAGO — Two police officers sustained minor injuries in a car crash early Monday in North Lawndale, police said.

At 12:45 a.m., the officers were driving in a Chicago Police car in the 3000 block of West Flournoy Street when the driver of a BMW SUV ran a stop sign and hit the police car's passenger side, police said.

The officers had minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital, where they were treated and released, police said.

The driver of the BMW was ticketed for driving without insurance and disobeying a stop sign, police said.
