JEFFERSON PARK — She might have just finished classes, but Jada DeJesus isn't done with school yet.
The Wilbur Wright College grad is one of four students heading to Northwestern University free of charge as a Chicago STAR Scholar.
The program that "provides a no-cost education to qualified Chicago Public Schools high school graduates," according to a press release from City Colleges of Chicago.
DeJesus will be pursuing a master's degree in international business from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, according to City Colleges.
She is joined by three students from Truman College — Tony Tran, Nadeem Patel and Naeem Patel — who were also named STAR scholars this year and who will also attend Northwestern University in the fall.
The Chicago STAR Scholarship was introduced in 2014 by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and City Colleges of Chicago, covers the cost of tuition and books to students with a 3.0 grade point average and "tested completion-ready in math and English," the release said.
Northwestern University is one of 15 universities and colleges providing financial, academic and advising support to STAR scholars planning to transfer and earn a bachelor's degree, according to the release.
