David Hobson Jr., 44, Killed In South Chicago Shooting

CHICAGO — A 44-year-old man was shot to death in South Chicago early Sunday, police said.

At 2:40 a.m., the man was driving in the 7900 block of South Brandon Avenue when he crashed into a parked car, police said. Emergency responders pulled the man from the car and realized he had been shot in his head and left shoulder.

The man was taken to South Shore Hospital, police said.

David Hobson Jr., of the 700 block of North Ridgeway, was pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known.

No one was in custody.
