CHICAGO — Five people, including four police officers, were sent to the hospital after a crash in Garfield Park Friday night.
The incident began when officers saw a vehicle wanted in connection to an "investigative alert."
They turned on the sirens and followed the vehicle south on Sacramento Avenue.
As they were crossing Madison Street around 9:20 p.m., a black SUV broadsided the police car's passenger side.
The SUV then careened into another vehicle in traffic. The SUV's driver and four police officers — two women and two men — all went to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicle the officers were pursuing got away.
