Off-duty Officers Involved In Fight While Leaving River North Club: Police

CHICAGO — Two off-duty Chicago Police officers were involved in a fight that led to one of them and a woman being hospitalized early Friday in River North.

At 2 a.m., the two men and woman were leaving a club in the 400 block of North LaSalle Street when three strangers walked up to them and the groups got into a fight, police said.

One of the off-duty officers, 32, had his face injured during the fight and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, police said. He was treated and released. The other off-duty officer, 25, did not have any visible injuries and refused medical treatment.

The woman fainted during the incident and was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where her condition was not available but she was listed as "stable," police said. The woman was not involved in the fight.

Two of the people from the group that approached the officers were taken into custody. Officers were looking for a third who was involved in the incident, police said, and charges were pending.

The incident was under investigation and no further information was immediately available.
