LINCOLN PARK — Homey don't play that, but the Wiener's Circle does.

In its latest jab at President Donald Trump, the Wiener's Circle, 2622 N. Clark St., proclaims, "Comey don't play that" on its marquee sign, adding, "Lordy we got the tapes."

It's a reference to the recent congressional testimony by former FBI Director James Comey, who dropped the expression "lordy" into his testimony about the president's attempt to discourage investigations into his campaign's alleged ties with Russian hackers during last year's campaign.

It's also a reference to comedian Damon Wayans' "In Living Color" recurring sketch character Homey D. Clown, known for socking people over the head while saying, "Homey don't play that."

It's a fresh slap at Trump two weeks after the Wiener's Circle proclaimed on its marquee that it is "Proudly Paris Accord compliant," adding a jab at the president's use of the nonsense word "covfefe" in a tweet.

Earlier this year, on April Fools' Day, the Wiener's Circle imagined it had been "annexed" by Russia. A year ago it made fun of Trump's penchant for exaggeration on the campaign trail by selling "Trump footlongs" that were actually all of 3 inches.

But don't expect the latest sign to stay up much longer. It's been chiding the president for almost two weeks now.
