Bridgeport Shooting Wounds 16-Year-Old, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded in Bridgeport on Wednesday night, police said.

At 9:38 p.m., the boy was walking down the street in the 2900 block of South Lyman Street when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

The boy was hit in his buttocks and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The boy is a documented gang member, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
