'Unity In the Community' Picnic Coming To Beverly Unitarian Church

BEVERLY — Several groups will gather for a "Unity in the Community Picnic" from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Beverly Unitarian Church.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share and a lawn chair for the picnic at 10244 S. Longwood Drive in Beverly. Drinks will be provided along with music for dancing and activities for children.

Participants are welcome to "come and relax" at the picnic that asks those attending to "build bridges, not walls." The picnic will be held rain or shine.

Sponsors and participants include the Unity in Diversity subcommittee of the Chicago Police Department's Morgan Park District, the Southwest Chicago Diversity Collaborative, Southsiders for Peace, Chicago Commission on Human Relations, the Community of Churches group, Chicago Jewish Voice for Peace, Friends of the Forest Preserves, Beverly Area Connect, Protect, & Activate, CASA of Blue Island, Chicago Southside Branch NAACP, South Suburban NAACP and Veterans for Peace.
