WEST RIDGE — Police are warning Far North Side residents after a man followed a 12-year-old girl for at least two blocks before attempting to lure her into his car.
Around 3:15 p.m. Friday, the girl was walking south on Damen Avenue along the border of West Ridge and Rogers Park when a man pulled up beside her in his car with his windows rolled down.
Once she was in front of her home, he pulled alongside the curb and yelled "Hey" while also motioning for the girl to come closer to the car, police said.
Instead, the girl walked away between two houses and alerted her parents, who told police. The man drove south on Devon, according to the girl.
The man was driving a black Nissan Sentra, police said.
