CHICAGO — A woman was ejected from a car in Old Town Friday afternoon while holding a baby boy in her arms, police say.

The woman was in a domestic argument with a 28-year-old man in the car while in the 1500 block of North Cleveland Avenue around 3:15 p.m., police said.

During that argument, the woman's door opened and she was ejected with the infant in arms. The woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital while the baby was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital.

ABC Chicago reports that the driver kept going at a high rate of speed after the infant and woman were thrown from the car, and that the baby suffered "various cuts and scrapes."
