Nicholas Smith, 25, Killed In Englewood Shooting; 2 Others Wounded

CHICAGO — A shooting in a front yard in Englewood Friday night killed one man and wounded two others, police said.

The incident occurred at 11:51 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Union Avenue where the men were standing in a front yard. Three gunmen walked up and shot them.

A 25-year-old man died at the scene after being shot multiple times in his body.

The man was identified as Nicholas Smith, of the 800 block of West 76th Street, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Smith was pronounced dead at 11:54 p.m.

A 23-year-old man was shot in his chest and is in critical condition at Stroger Hospital.

A 29-year-old man was shot in his right leg and taken to St. Bernard Hospital.

No one is in custody.
