Deshawn Boswell, 26, Killed In Shooting In Front Of Chatham Apartment

CHICAGO — A man was killed and another was injured after being shot in front of a Chatham apartment building Friday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred in the 8000 block of South Ellis Avenue at 12:50 p.m.

A 26-year-old man was shot in his chest and taken to Jackson Park Hospital where he died.

The man was identified as Deshawn Boswell, of the 7100 block of South Yates, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Boswell was pronounced dead at 1:40 p.m. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his chest in a homicide.

A 21-year-old man was shot in his legs and wrist and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

No one is in custody.
