The forest preserve site at 87th Street and Western Avenue in Beverly is among the most popular spots for picnics, family reunions, church groups and other gatherings, according to county officials.

Permits will be sold from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdaysvand from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays through Labor Day (Sept. 4) in Beverly. Permits sold at Dan Ryan Woods must be bought with a credit card.
