Parishioners At Christ The King And St. Barnabas Build A House

 Parishioners from St. Barnabas and Christ the King in Beverly worked together to build a home for a needy family last weekend. The house was shipped to Springfield, Ohio, complete with several messages left from the volunteer homebuilders.

BEVERLY — Parishioners of Beverly's St. Barnabas and Christ the King churches built a house together.

The House Build 2017 project was a joint effort that took place over the weekend mostly in the parking lot of Christ the King, 9235 S. Hamilton Ave. Some $8,000 was raised for the project that included contributions from handymen and women of all ages.

No special skills were required for the volunteers who built the framework of the home that was shipped to a needy family in Springfield, Ohio.

The project included a special Mass and blessing. Several volunteers also wrote inspirational messages on the interior walls and studs of the new home. Here are a few pictures from the event:
