At 2:20 p.m., the man and a 17-year-old were in a car in the 1500 block of South Kildare Avenue when a dark-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots at the man and teen, police said.

The man was hit in his head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Bruce Crosby, of the 1400 block of South Kostner Avenue, was pronounced dead at 3:21 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

The 17-year-old hit in her stomach and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

A 16-year-old who was standing on the sidewalk was also hit by the gunfire, police said. He was shot in his head and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
