South Side Van Thefts Lead To Warning From Police

CHICAGO — Police are warning residents in the Gage Park, McKinley Park and Canaryville neighborhoods after white Ford Econoline vans were stolen in three separate incidents.

The thefts occurred:

• At 5 a.m. May 10 in the 2900 block of West 55th Street

• At 12:57 a.m. May 16 in the 2400 Block of West 36th Street

• Between 8 p.m. June 2 and 8:30 a.m. June 3 in the 4400 block of South Union Avenue

Police reminded residents not to leave their keys in the vehicle and to pay attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.

Anyone with information about the van thefts is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8382.
