Louis Chamness, 21, Killed In Belmont Cragin Shooting

CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting in Belmont Cragin Friday evening, police said.

The incident occurred in the 5700 block of West Belden Avenue at 6:46 p.m.

The man was driving a car when people from a dark-colored sedan shot at it.

The man was shot in his chest. His car crashed into a parked car and flipped on its side.

The victim died at Loyola University Medical Center.

The man was identified as Louis Chamness, of the 4300 block of West Wrightwood, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records.

Chamness was pronounced dead at 7:28 p.m. and an autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.

No one has been arrested.
