CHICAGO — The Six Corners Shopping District will be overtaken by live music, games and mountains of meat for the seventh annual Six Corners BBQ Fest on Saturday and Sunday, one of nearly a dozen outdoor festivals set to shut down streets around the city this weekend.

On top of food and music, the event will feature "giant lawn games" like Jenga and Connect Four, plus a 40-foot roller rink with free skate rentals, according to Six Corners Association director Kelli Wefenstette.

Organizer Amie Zander describe the food offerings as "your favorite backyard barbecue foods," including burgers, brats, sausages, hot dogs, chicken and rib sandwiches.

Attendees will also find "Mexican fare, side dishes such as fries, cheese curds, sweet corn, nachos, etc." and "sweet treats like funnel cakes, deep fried Oreos and Twinkies and even a deep fried PB&J sandwich," Zander said.

The food vendors lined up for the fest include:

El Campeon

Harold's Food Truck

Fannie's Cafe, Bakery and Boutique

Rancho Mateo

• Suzie's Fun Foods

Taqueria La Ciudad

Fido to Go (dog treats, snacks and food for dogs)

The Blind Staggers will headline the event's live music lineup Saturday, and "roots rock" band Antony and the Tramps will take the primetime spot Sunday.

The full lineup is available on the Six Corners BBQ Fest website.

The fest will run from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. The association is asking for a $5 donation to attend; alternatively, a $15 ticket buys admission, two beers and a "souvenir festival mug."
