NEAR NORTH SIDE — Family and friends of a missing River North woman are continuing their search more than three days after she disappeared.

Magda "Maggie" Saez, 30, was last seen Sunday morning walking around River West and Goose Island, a walk she took after leaving home without her phone, keys or cash, said Orlando Saez, Magda's father.

Police put out a missing person alert Monday, but Saez's friends and family are taking the search in their own hands, setting up a Facebook page and searching "hot zones" where they believe Saez could be.

"We want to make the world know that we love her and are trying to find her," Orlando Saez said. "We're concerned for her."

Saez was last seen walking at 8:40 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of West Chicago Avenue, police said.

Saez was wearing a blue tank top, black yoga pants, black shoes and carrying a red Lululemon Bag, police said. She has a tribal tattoo on her right shoulder, a tattoo of birds on her left forearm and a tattoo saying "Happiness best when shared" on her upper thigh, police said. She's 5-foot-3.

Saez, a nurse, moved back to her native Chicago about a year ago after living in Miami, where she was engaged to be married. Saez moved back into her parents River North apartment after the engagement fell apart.

Saez had been suffering from depression, but her father Orlando said she had been "recovering and doing well, seemingly."

"This caught us completely by surprise," he said.

Anyone who sees Saez or knows of her whereabouts is asked to call police at (312) 747-8380 or 911.
