CHICAGO — Corey Hill, 16, and Jacques Mack, 15, were shot dead in North Lawndale on Wednesday morning, officials said.
At 9:06 a.m., the boys were standing on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of South Lawndale Avenue when someone in a mask got out of a silver-colored car and fired shots from a rifle, police said.
The boys were shot and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Hill, of the 700 block of North Lotus Avenue, was pronounced dead at 9:20 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Mack, of the 3500 block of West Lexington Avenue, was pronounced dead at 9:32 a.m.
Autopsies showed the boys died from multiple gunshot wounds in homicides, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
The attacker got back into the silver-colored car after the shooting and drove away, police said.
No one was in custody.
