Van Being Followed By Police Crashes In Humboldt Park, 5 Injured

CHICAGO — A van being followed by police crashed in Humboldt Park on Saturday night, police said.

At 9:12 p.m., officers started following the van, which they thought might be connected to a call of shots fired near California and Division, police said. The driver of the van sped off to the 3600 block of West Grand Avenue, when he crashed into a car.

The crash caused the van to flip onto its side and hit a second car, police said.

Three people from the first car that was hit were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries, police said. Two people from the van were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
