RIVER NORTH — A "wok up window" serving grab-and-go Chinese food is the latest late-night addition to River North.

Imperial Lamian will give out free takeout during the walk-up window's debut at 10 p.m. Friday at 6 W. Hubbard St. The window will regularly be open from 10 p.m. to midnight on Thursday through Saturday.

The restaurant will sell six different dishes for $3 each:

•Pumpkin Puffs with roast duck and butternut squash

•Mushroom Buns with shiitake mushrooms and truffle oil in a steamed bun

•Baked Charsiu Buns (barbecue pork)

•Fried Wontons with shrimp, cilantro, carrots and sweet chili sauce

•Vegetable Fried Lamian with mixed peppers, bean sprout and soy sauce

•Barbecue Pork Fried Rice

The late-night counter, lit up with its own neon sign, is a takeout compliment to Imperial Lamian, an upscale Chinese restaurant that opened last year on Hubbard Street.
