CHICAGO — Filament Theatre, 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave., will host five separate theater ensembles putting on a patchwork live performance of the movie "Ghostbusters" on Thursday, organizers announced.
The event, titled "Five Fifths of Ghostbusters," invites each of the five troops to "reinterpret, redefine, and re-imagine" a section of the 1984 comedy classic and act it out for the audience, according to the announcement.
Ticket sales will help support the eighth annual Chicago Fringe Festival, which promises to present about 200 performances by 50 different groups all around Jefferson Park from Aug. 30-Sept. 10.
Each $40 ticket entitles guests to food, two drinks and entrance into a "wine raffle," along with admission to the show. Tickets can be bought online.
"Five Fifths of Ghostbusters" begins at 7 p.m. Thursday.
