CHICAGO — Jose Gomez, 28, was shot dead in East Side early Tuesday, officials said.
At 2:11 a.m., the man was in his car in the 9800 block of South Avenue H when another car drove up and someone inside fired shots at the man, police said.
The man was hit in his head, police said.
Gomez, of an unknown home address, was pronounced dead at 2:31 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
A police source said the man was a documented gang member.
No one was in custody.
