NOBLE SQUARE — Shots were fired in Noble Square overnight Sunday, but no injuries were reported in the area, police said.

A resident heard gunshots between 3:30 and 4 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of North Milwaukee Ave., according to a volunteer CAPS facilitator.

Officer Laura Amezaga, a Chicago Police spokeswoman, confirmed the gunshots, and said officers responded to a call of five shots fired there at 3:31 a.m. on Sunday.

Amezaga said the caller stated he heard five shots fired, but didn't see anything.

No one is in custody and no injuries were reported.

"Officers toured the area with negative results," Amezaga said.
