EAST HUMBOLDT PARK — An East Humboldt Park resident was robbed early Monday of his SUV and personal belongings by two men who forced him to ride in the back seat of his car before dropping him in the far South Side, police said.

According to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday, a 36-year-old man reported that he was outside his residence, located in the 800 block of North Rockwell Street, when he was approached by two armed men.

The men forced the man into the backseat of his grey colored 2001 Chevy Tahoe SUV, and drove away, as a third person, driving a red mini-van, followed the victim's vehicle.

Estrada said that as the offenders drove around, they demanded that the victim give up his personal items, including his phone, an undetermined amount of cash, his wallet and athletic shoes.

The man was left on the street near the intersection of 67th and Blackstone Avenue as the offenders drove away in his car. Estrada said the man walked to a nearby fire station in the 1400 block of E. 67th Street, where he sought help.

The victim was not injured during his ordeal, Estrada said.

No one is in custody and Area Central detectives are investigating. Anyone with information or tips, should call 312-747-8382.
