CHICAGO — Cortez Brown, 29, was dead after being shot in his head in Park Manor Thursday evening, officials said.
The incident occurred at 6:37 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Indiana Avenue.
A person with a gun got out of a Chevrolet Equinox and shot at the victim, before driving off in the SUV. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital.
Cortez, of suburban Kankakee, was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
