Kyle Schwarber Homer Breaks Budweiser Sign High Atop Video Board

By DNAinfo Staff | May 18, 2017 9:19am

CHICAGO — Add another chapter to the Kyle Schwarber legend.

The Chicago Cubs' burly slugger banged a batting practice ball off the huge Budweiser neon sign atop Wrigley Field's right field video board Wednesday night — shorting out the "Bud" section of the sign.

It's the same video board that Schwarber deposited a home run ball on top of during the 2015 playoffs. The Cubs left that ball on the top of the video board, protecting it under a plexiglass box. The estimated distance of that shot was 419 feet.

Wednesday night's blast wasn't witnessed by a packed house like that home run. It came while the lefty took batting practice before the Cubs game against the Reds.

"It had some wind behind it," Schwarber told MLB.com. You could see some wires fall. I apologize in advance. I'm sure they'll make that quick fix."

Here's the video of his 2015 blast against the Cardinals:
